UsageTo use SW-Lookup®, you only need a HTML browser. Well known browsers are Microsoft® Internet Explorer or Netscape® Navigator. Since SW-Lookup® only requires table support, most of the other browsers can be used as well. In fact, you will find an already installed browser on most workstations. If not, you can find a browser on nearly every CD which comes with most contemporary computer newspapers. Because a working TCP/IP configuration is mandatory for using Smallworld® GIS, we will not describe this issue further. You should consider indexing some smaller object classes first when trying SW-Lookup®, since this takes little time. Use an object class with a sufficient number of records which can be displayed in a satisfactory way. The examples on the following sides are created with the cambridge database model. However, you may also test SW-Lookup® on your own data model from the very beginning. We would even recommend this. |
