Finding objects with table search

If you know, in which table the data you are searching for resides, or if you are looking for a certain range of numerical data (date from...to, sizes etc), you may reach this via the table search.

The search for numerical or date fields is realised very elegant. In opposition to the GIS, you may enter from...to values to simply create a query for a numerical range (see table search). Numerical fields are automatically presented in this way.

If you, for example, want to know which longer footpaths are in the database, you could do this as follows: Open the table query page, and choose "footpath"; then click "query".

Enter 0.5 in the left field of 'length', so you get all footpaths with at least 0.5 km length. If you enter a second value on the right side, you get all footpaths between the two values - etc.

This works similar with all numeric or date fields.

Clicking on the "Search" button with "object list" as the format results in the following view:

This is, easy to see, the same result table as in the full text search. But there is also a "List as text" result table, which is better suitable for printout and looks like this:

Follow the links, and you get the same presentations as described in the full text search chapter. If you defined reports in the GIS (and saved them accordingly), the combo box gets extended by the reports which match the current table; for further details refer to chapter reports.
