Installation

Since version 1.30, there is only one distribution file. This file should be unpacked into an empty directory, if possible in the directory tree where you use to store Magik modules.

For installation, we distinguish the following roles:

1. PeerServer

   This must be a Smallworld® GIS workstation. The only currently supported operating system is Windows NT.

2. SWL-Dispatcher

   This can be any machine on your network which is able to run Java® code.

Of course, both roles can pe performed on a single machine. The dispatcher is very efficient, so it needs little system resources.
