Object navigation

If you have found an object, no matter which way you have chosen, you can go further with simple navigation aids.

Basically, there are the following possibilities:

  1. You may switch between the defined views for the object directly by choosing from the list or combo box in the header
  2. You may list the objects (and jump to their representations) showed on the main graphics window and which are indexed in SW-Lookup®.
  3. You may follow joins between object classes indexed in SW-Lookup®.

Let's go back to the street "Lensfield Road"; you may be interested in another area, so click on "Zoom out" and then on the blue cross to go to the region around there:

Now you see a couple of restaurants as well as other objects. The function "object list" can show you there objects with all their data. Click on "list of objects":

Here you see a lot of objects, labeled with numbers. If you want to know more about the Restaurant "xxx", scroll to the number 8 and click on the link:

If there are joins defined between objects both indexed in SW-Lookup®, these link fields are provided for navigation. You see this from the link with three dashes in the corresponding fields. There is only a link, if there are objects connected with the current object! So, you do not see links with this Restaurant. You may try the restaurant 'County Arms", which is connected with a car park and Access roads.

If you, for instance, click on the link "Restaurants" in the Lensfield road representation, you get the following list:

From here, you may navigate to the restaurants linked to this road and back, and so on...

That's it! GIS may be that simple! If you now drag a link to the login page on your desktop, you have SW-Lookup® by your side for daily use.

TIP:For sure, you may use the normal functions of the browser to, for example, jump back to pages you have already visited. You may, for example, jump back from the result table to the search page and enter a new query. More tips can be found in the chapter browser tips.
